Spiralling Dragon Taiji (tai chi)
Is
a short form developed from the Yang style into a
spiralling and coiling form that moves the fluids and
energies at a profound level. It is a beautiful form
that opens the joints and stretches the connective
tissues,
as well as strengthening the tendons and muscles.
Over time it clears the body-mind of conditioned
negative patterning and stagnation and builds
the Qi to a high level of refined potency.
Classes include aspects of Dao Yin, Qigong
and Sitting Meditation. Some push hands partner work is
encouraged to help students to understand balance, Qi
dynamics, the development of power and
an appreciation of the martial aims of Taiji.
Spiralling Dragon Taiji is taught primarily as a
healing and meditative art, for this reason we do not
include the word Quan which means boxing. Although the
martial aspects of Taiji are not taught in this form
they are acknowledged and respected as the root
and branch of the work, and for the magnificent art and
science that is Taijiquan.
Taijiquan (tai chi chuan)
The Chinese art of healing, and self defence is
considered to be the grand ultimate internal
martial art. It is also a balanced and deeply relaxing
form of meditation and exercise.
It clears the body of stagnant energies, harmonises the
mind, and regulates the muscles and
tendons.
